Sharing God with the little ones

I read somewhere that a parent pretty much have until the kids is 8 year old to witness to them after that it’s an uphill battle.
I’m not sure how sure how true or false this statement is but better safe than sorry.

So I’m doing my best to make sure my little girls knows and loves the Lord early.

Love and know is very different, growing I knew God, I knew about God but I didn’t love Him.

I always view Him as this bully who wants me to do things His way and if I didn’t He would kill me, or make bad things happen to me.

Since I didn’t wanna die so I comply.

Now that I know what I know, I know that it is not the case. So I’m trying to teach my girls to Love God, and more importantly to receive God's love for them.

There’s no manual on how to witness to small children so I’m just winging it and go with my heart.

Our routine consist of  stories in the Bible and memorize part of verses , prayer, devotions and stuff like that.
The other day all 3 of us was sitting in my closet trying on shoes when my oldest one asked

mommy was does it mean when they say God is Holy

for a minute I felt like someone just throw cold  water in my face. My mind is racing, I'm telling myself: it's a great opportunity to teach, don't screw it up! OK time to say something smart, Holy, from the bible… Quote a verse or something.. no something a 6 yo would understand… OK Breathe, breathe, 5 second is almost over now say something!

I wrestle myself to find the perfect thing to say, I finally just blurb out

it mean that God is without sin

What is sin

***repeat above steps***

After my 5 seconds panic in my head, I told them that sin was like icky germs that gets you dirty and sick and God was really clean and he doesn’t like them.
she evaluate for a moment and say eh me either I don’t like icky germs I wanna be Holy too.
I know she took it in a literal sense, but I think I’m gonna live it at that for now.

Has your little ones asked you serious spiritual questions?

What was it?

How do you respond?

5 ways to incorporate exercise in your busy day

Let me start by saying I HATE the gym! I cut up my ties with LA fitness, because I could be buying shoes with those $40.

Between work, family, ministry and well Life! I don't have time for gym. although I probably wouldn't be a faithful gym person even if I had time.

So how I do I keep myself from a heart attack and the food baby under control?

Bring lunch & Walk on lunch break

Instead of buying lunch at work, I bring my own, usually a modify version of the previous night's dinner.
Which is so much better because I can have a healthy-ish  lunch as oppose to the the greasy pizza, burger or Chinese food I would normally go for.

It saves me the time I was going to drive around looking for food I use it to walk.
I keep my tennis shoes in my office, just kick my heels and go for a walk.

My walk are so productive, I get blog ideas while walking, I get dinner ideas while walking, I pray while walking, I solve work issues while walking. So lunch walks are my best and number one way to stay active and healthy.

Join runner's club at or around office

Is this even a thing? yes it's a thing! A lot of people are doing it, ask around.

I was surprise to find out that around my office there's a secret runner's club. Some offices has secret showers they don't let people know about, that you can use for quickie showers after runs.

Not sure why anyone would commit to such horrible practice *insert sarcastic font* but some people it's their thing.

I met this this lady while on my lunch walk who was going for a run and she told me about the secret showers and their running club. She says walking is boring!
*horrified face*
She made such a good case of it, she even convince me to go running with them. I went two times, after they nearly kill me I decide I'm not a runner and I'm more of a power walking kinda gal.
So moral is stick to what works for you.

Be a kid! When you take your kids to the park, Join the play too

I'm a big kid! I must have had some kinda deprived childhood cause there's still some kid left in me.
Either at home or the park I join the play. I play tag, I climb, I play with anything that look like I can't break it. I do NOT sit around and watch them play I join the play, move around anything that give my heart something to do. I sit in average 8 hours a day so, any little bit is better than nothing.

You're still a grown up, you can get your heart rate up without disturbing everyone else. Use your own judgement on that one, don't be creepy!
If you not in a playing mood there's other things you can do at the park... I notice my arms was looking mighty nice from holding my daughters of the monkey bar.
Every little bit helps!

Take the stairs

I work in the 3rd floor, so I often make it a point to take the stairs instead of elevators. My shoes are not always stairs sensible, but whenever I can I do it. Three flight of stairs is guarantee to always get your heart rate up.

Park far

Make the walmart parking lot zoo situation work in your favors. I always scream "favors" when I get a close spot but now I still scream "favors" when I have to park way down the third lane too. cause that walk will definitely get the heart pumping.

Always be ready, keep an active mindset, leave tennis shoes at the office for spontaneous walks, leave comfy shoes in the car for when the opportunities rises. At least that how I do it!

How do you keep yourself active with a busy schedule?
Are you a gym brat?
Do you exercise at home?
What are your methods? Please share

Meeting new foods - FL ROMANESCO CAULIFLOWERS

I have a love/hate relationship with my Organic co-op. Sometimes they send me stuff I have no idea what they are. These are called FL ROMANESCO CAULIFLOWER I couldn't find a recipe for them so I made my own.
I call it buttery steamed romanesco cauliflower!
Salt
pepper
paprika
butter
steamed it for about 15 minutes and voila!
It turned out pretty good.  I even got one kid to eat it and loved it, one kid was too full to try, so we'll try again another time.
Do you like cooking new food?
Even things you've never seen before?

Choosing JOY is not always that easy

In last few weeks  post I talk about joy and happiness, I didn’t know that the very next day I would be face with the test of my life!

WOW! I’m very into practice what you preach but dang! I was not expecting this gruesome challenge.

How do I find joy when my world is shattered in million pieces, when everything I stand for become an unreachable dream,  an illusion,  A sham, a screen saver?

Joy come from the inside. How do I remain “joyful” when my inside is filled with Stinky bitterness,  and anger?

But God !!!

I Praise God for supernatural healing, for healing my broken heart… in ways only Him could. I praise him for Grace and Mercy, for hope that the deadness is not forever, for hope that the deadness will serve as compost that fuel my garden, my garden that will flourish with JOY, measureless, pure, everlasting, unwavering JOY.

My happiness you may take but this JOY that I have the world didn’t give it to me so the world most definitely can’t take it away.

Like David said in Psalm 118:13 “I was pushed hard, so that I was falling, but the LORD helped me.” He set my feet on a rock so I won’t be moved.

What's threatening your joy today?
