Tuesday Shoesday: Summer Wedding

Hi Guys!
Summer is officially over, we head back to school this week and I'm hoping to get back to my regular posting schedule. I'm so excited about installment of Tuesday shoesday, why you ask?
The shoes you've met... but the dress! let me tell you about how this little dress came into my life.

I was asked for my daughter to be a flower girl at a friends wedding, of course of the preparation and attention went to her. I had no idea what I was going to wear, I certainly wasn't thinking about these shoes.

The wedding was outside so I know I wanted something airy and girly. I had something in my mind but it wouldn't work with my white sandal I'm itching to wear. I went dress hunting with the white sandals in mind, when I first saw this dress I thought they would be a great pair... until i tried it together and they  just did NOT get a long LOL

Now I got my mind made up that this dress was peach or coral or something. I never realize it was pink!!! I was a Holy spirit moment when I accidentally drop the dress and it landed on these shoes and the blended perfectly.

I feel so girly and sassy I could pop hehehe

How was your summer? What did you do?

Juicing and Face Mask Step by Step Picture recipe

What's you need:
  • Rainbow Chard
  • Tomatoes
  • Carrots
  • Cucumbers
Awesomeness and Goodness: 100% the greens brings lots of iron in the mix. Tomatoes, Carrots, cucumbers support skin, hair, eye health and tons of other goodness I don't know
Taste factor: Close to disgusting, not for the faint of heart or maybe it's just me. Drinking it cold helps a bit.
Ask me how you can incorporate more fruits and veggies in your daily regimen, and grow your own veggies at home.

Grilled cheese is definitely a favorite in my house.  How can you not like toasty, crunchy, cheesy hand-held sammies? I love finding new and delicious ways to make grilled cheese, from varying the type of cheese, to incorporating meats or vegetables, and even adding spreads or other condiments.

quick berry crisp
I make a lot of recipes that call for different pie fillings! Depending on the season they can be hard to find and some are more expensive then others. With berry picking season in full bloom, I thought I would try making my own! I was surprised at how simple it is to make and after adding a little bit of this and that I created this thick, warm, sweet, bursting with fresh blueberries pie filling! With only 6 ingredients this blueberry pie filling was less expensive and made more than store bought. Ready your mason jars and get ready to can some amazing pie filling!

How To Freeze Fresh Farm Eggs

This time of year is just crazy in my neck of the woods. Between everything in the garden ripening at the same time, the chickens laying eggs like it’s going out of style and it being our favorite time to go camping I am BUSY! It is a given that household chores have been pushed to the waist side. I am trying to be ok with that. But canning and preserving foods in a messy house drives me nuts! Ok let’s be honest here, being in a messy house no matter what I am doing drives me nuts!

If you're like me, I hate to look for stuff in my pantry. Not sure if I have it there or not, missing it and purchasing more only to find it again and notice it is out of date. aughhh!!!

My old Dodge pickup is rusting. Trying to restore the rusting parts piece by piece, hoping to keep it in good condition, my handy husband went to his favorite salvage yard in search of a fender. He called me when he found one and said, "I've got a fender and there is an old kitchen step stool seat thing here that is getting thrown out. It's really rough. Is it something you are interested in trying to fix up?"  I said "YES! Please and thank you!"

Look What's New

A couple of weeks ago I was browsing on ebay and I found this cute
gingham pitcher by Crown Burslem.  It is still wearing it's little
Union Jack sticker which I plan to peel off but thought it would be
fun in the pic.  I love gingham and can never pass it up.  It was
a bargain too which always seals a deal.

In Greece, we buy our desserts mainly from pastry shops that carry a variety of sweets mainly influenced by the French and the Italian ones. Of course they sell traditional Greek ones, but the majority of people prefer to buy the ones that are made according to French or Italian standards.

Today I am delighted to present my 1st refashion a real adventure!
I love jeans and have long wanted to make a very practical bag. Some time ago, a friend gave me a pair of jeans speckled with small beads. So, from a pair of pants were born a bag with wicker handles, a purse and still have leftovers fabric. Frogged, I did some tests, I lined with polka dot fabric, made a sprig of flowers and loved the result!
And what do you think?

I hope you have been encouraged to slow down a bit and consider the blessings of life all around you. It's a constant struggle for me to slow down, and I have to remind myself often to refocus my mind.

I hope you have been encouraged to slow down a bit and consider the blessings of life all around you. It's a constant struggle for me to slow down, and I have to remind myself often to refocus my mind. I'm grateful for the opportunity to do that here, and to share it with you.

We are really blessed in our house to have the space for a playroom. It’s a first floor master bedroom with a bathroom and small walk-in closet. Since we wanted to be on the same floor as Carl, we opted to stay upstairs. The only problem with our playroom is it is completely bare (except for the billions tons of toys).

Laptop and iPad Messenger Bag by Gina's Craft Corner (pattern by Sew Sweetness)

Yes, it is another Kennedy Bag!  I just love this pattern by Sarah Lawson from Sew Sweetness.  It is actually a free pattern she offers, so check it out!  I always feel so satisfied when I am finished with one of these bags.  The buckles still frustrate me a bit, but it is all worth it!

Photo Chore Chart
I am a firm believer in teaching kids responsibility and that can be done from a very young age. My little guy is three and we have just started introducing jobs to him. He has been expected to do them for awhile now, but I really wanted to create a visual reminder for him. He can’t read yet, so a typical chart was out of the question. I started with clip-art but it just didn’t seam specific enough for me!

Lifeway Kefir Strawberry Mango Sorbet and IceCream Pop

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #CollectiveBias

This  week end had been a one blessed week, loaded with lots of fun. First we got 2 whole days without rain, then we got to go shopping!
It was ridiculously HOT but we got around to cool down with some yummy healthy cold treats. I can't wait to tell you guys about it.

I probably mention it here before, one of my bugs little tummy doesn't move very well so I'm always trying to incorporate fibers, good cultures and probiotics in her diet to help things along...
She loves yogurt, so anything in the yogurt family is a win for me over her picky taste buds.

I don't have to tell you how excited I was when I walk into winn-dixie to get my Lifeway kefir probiotics milk smoothies. This stuff was God sent!
This Lifeway food contain 12 live and active Probiotics cultures, it's high in calcium, gluten free, 99% lactose free,  no artificial sweetener and it is GMO free. What else could this mama ask for?

Knowing my kiddos, I picked up a few flavors for my #KefirCreations, I already know the 2 bugs would never agree on the same flavor. LOL They kinda compromise on strawberries and mango so that work for me. Since it's hot, I was set out to make "Ice cream Pop" (if that's even a thing, but the bugs swears by their ice cream Pop) but I ended up making a sorbet too.

Throw everything in a blender and blend until smooth
Then pour into ice pop mould and freeze for 2 hours.

However, if you happened to have an impatient 5 year old who can't wait for the Pops to freeze, this is where the ice come into play. Add some ice to the blender and tada! you now have an instant frozen treat ready to enjoy!
We call it the "Lifeway Kefir Strawberry Mango Sorbet" we get fancy with it. LOL

Good thing come to those who wait, when we came back from the park hot and sweaty big bug was in heaven.

and then they say enough with the cuteness we going to to town with it LOL

Have you guys tried Lifeway Kefir probiotics milk smoothies? if you haven't here's a coupon for you.

Enjoy!

Recipe for ice cream pop & Sorbet

Friday Fashion Tips for Moms

I wrote this post as a guest post for my girl Echo over at Mad Mommy a while back, it was such a fun post I thought I'd share it with you guys too.
ENJOY!

Being a mom of small children sometimes even taking a shower is daunting task that can WAY down the to-do list.
Ok am I the only one? moving on!
As I was saying it's hard fitting a shower in our crazy schedule forget about FASHION!

But Sometimes we do need to hang the mom uniform, and feel like a woman again. You know the one who use to take multiple showers a day wear smell good lotion and wear other stuff beside T-shirt and jeans.
I wore old maternity clothes and moomoos for 2 years I didn't like it but it was convenient, so I came up with a convenient way that will work with my new "mom" job and allow me to still be a little bit of me.
Admit it, as women we like to look cute, even if we prioritize our kids over our looks but deep down it feels good to look and feel like a woman again. It's not always easier but here's a few tips on how to work it in! and not even look like mom :)
This is the mom uniform, the trusted jean, t-shirt and sneakers, it's not too bad. It's comfortable, easy with a dash of color it's almost stylish! :) Someday this is needed, on days when you need to kick some you-know-what.
But we can take it up a notch...
Throw on a blazer, some wedges and even some stunners and
you're a whole new woman!
In my part of the world wearing pants in certain time of the year can kill you! Ok maybe not kill you but it can get so HOT pants, especially jeans are no-nos. Here come the maxi!
I call this my week end uniform, I have about 3 or 4 of them that I rotate with cute flats.
Not much styling required, with some cool shades, I can even ride incognito! They don't even know I'm a MOM LOL!
