5 ways to celebrate kids birthday while on quarantine

These past few weeks we’ve had to adapt to a new way of life. So much has changed.
My daughter LOVES her birthday! We are huge on celebrating birthdays, we love  She’s been talking about her birthday for months! Last year she had a huge party, this year we were planning something smaller, She wanted to go to the new jumping place with a few friends then corona happened. She was super worried about what are we going to do for her birthday. I assure her we are going to celebrate no matter what. Like my Haitian mama would say :
“Qu’il pleut, qu’il tonne” Which means rain or storm it’s happening.

I called my baker friend to see if she was taking orders, I placed an order for some cupcakes, made a lunch menu and just like that the four of us had an all day party!

This is what we did, just in case you need ideas for an upcoming birthday, one of these five ways to celebrate at home birthdays will help you.

Swimming or water play (if you’re able)

If it’s warm enough and you have access to a swimming pool, a pool party is the best way to go. You can’t go wrong with a pool party, kids love water play My kids can spend hours in the pool, playing all kind of games. They played noodle wars, kickball, Marco polo… I got them mermaid tails and a little underwater camera to film their mermaid movies. Best $40 I ever spent!

For this pool party activity all you need

Painting
My birthday girl loves to paint, so she wanted us to paint with her. I got to say it was way more fun than I expected. Big sis and I had so much fun we’re thinking of including painting as our new family hangout times.
I do a lot of crafts but painting was never in my wheelhouse, I think I did pretty good if I do say so myself.

What you need for this painting activity

Beauty and Make-up party

I have no word on this one. So, see it for yourself!

Movie watch party and popcorn
Just because we can go to the movies doesn’t mean we can’t have the movie experience. Just pop some popcorn and latter with butter.

Cooking and baking party
You can have a cooking and baking party. It’s a birthday, you can’t go out, you have to cook anyway… just make it fun!
Let the kids participate and let them run The show!

We had a great fun-filled day, and we didn’t have to go anywhere.

This too shall pass, Let make the best of it.
Stay safe!
