Be prepared - Build your winter toolkit!
In my winter toolkit I like to have Children’s MOTRIN®, in two flavors one of each of the girls, Motrin IB, Tylenol, Fish oil capsule, vitamins gummies, Lemon Ginger tea, and Plenty of water!
Being prepared and having the right medicines at hand can help your family get on with their lives when colds, aches and pains strikes. I tend to let headaches and pains run over me before I take something. Thinking I can fight it alone, but it always ends up costing me precious time and having to suffer through aches and pain I didn’t have to put up with to begin with.

Drink more water
Yes, this seems like a simple and minimal solution, and it is. With colds, we tend to get congested and dry. Drinking lots, and lots, of water will not only help thin out that pesky mucus but will also help your body flush out the nasty germs that are making you sick in turn, gives you some relief. We’re supposed to drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day anyway, so increasing that by a third when you are suffering from cold germs will help tremendously.
Ginger, lemon and honey tea is often used to help relieve cold and flu symptoms. and also as prevention, Lemon are loaded with vitamin C that can help boost immune system and keep cold germs at bay.
All these ingredients have their own natural medicinal qualities and when they are combined, they create a calming and relaxing tea that can ease symptoms and boost your immune system.
Take multi vitamins and immune system boosters
The best way to get relief from winter colds and aches is to not have them at all in the first place. Prevention is the best medicine, drinking your water, taking multivitamins, and fish oils can help give your immune system a boost to fight against those nasty germs. Even help you get over them quicker.
Motrin IB
The 5 Ps, Prior Preparation Prevent Poor Performance! My teachers use to say that to me, now I say it to my kids but it also apply to MOMLIFE.
Being prepared and having the right medicine at hand makes all the difference. Nothing like waking up in the middle of the night with your kid burning with fever and to find out the only medicine in your cabinet is either expired or empty… Believe me It happened!
Anything that simply our lives as moms, I’m all for it. Winter is a busy season, moms don’t have time to nurse pains and aches or playing nurse to cranky children. Being prepared and having the proper medicine at hand will help you win over winter’s aches and pains and onto enjoying the season!
