How to get the best out of Shoedazzle

You guys know I love shoes!

and one way support my mini addiction is through Shoedazzle, I have so many pink boxes in my closet it's almost embarrassing!

How do I get the most out of it? Here's how
First you need to sign up, it's super easy sign up here!

Then you setup your style profile so your personal shopper can know what's you like
Now you should opt to be a VIP  Member. VIP members get free shipping both ways no matter how much you spend.

Now that you are sign up as a VIP the monthly subscription is $39.99, but that money stays in your account until you ready to shop, but if you are weird like me and prefer to spend on your own terms.
You can skip the month, you have until the 5th of each moth to skip.

The secret: On Saturday they have the VIP style steal where certain shoes can be as low as $15.99 until noon or so, like that you'll never have to spend $40 on a shoe

Although I spend way more a month on Shoedazzle shoes I always skip LOL

That's it! Have fun building your shoes wardrobe!

Are you a ShoeDazzle member? How many shoeDazzle shoes you have?

When a relationship dies - Find Healing and Hope

Hope and healing after losing a loved one

Read Psalm 27:10.
God promises if your mother or father forsakes you, He will remain. The word of God  advise to depend on no one, but stand and lean on God alone. Not your parents, your spouse, children, but only God. “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man” (Psalm 118:8 KJV).

Let them go
Throughout life, we may lose a loved one or a relationship may come to a sudden end, and we may find ourselves stuck in the moment. If you have been dependent on someone or grieving the loss of a loved one, ask God to see you through. Be determined, no matter what, that you will depend on God during this difficult period in your life. Know your tears are only temporary and there will be a time when you will not have to cry anymore.
Read 2 Corinthians 4:17.

It is not God's desire for you to remain in your past. He desires for you (us) to remove anything holding you back from following and trusting Him.
For this reason Luke 9:59-60  states, “Follow me!” He also states, “Let the dead bury the dead.”

Live again
Sometimes, when we lose a loved one, there is a part of us that dies too. But, begin to ask God to bring this part of your life back.
Let go of your tears. God wants to replace them with joy. Let go of the very moment when you lost your loved one, and leave the past in the past. Know God is doing a new thing in your life. Rejoice now! He is taking everything in your past and turning around for your good.
Read Romans 8:28.

Ask God today to remove any dependence on people or merely living in the past. Ask God to remove this dependence and fill it with His presence. Remember, God is always there for you!

Begin to trust Him and Him alone. I pray you receive this and pray God will do a new thing for you.

Do you really believe He can?

Yes She Grows: It's Just Hair

It was long!

I cut it
It grew back
Nothing get folks (by folks I mean family) twisted in a knot than hearing you say "I want to cut my hair"
So my hair is now 2 year old, and the old boredom is starting to set in, I think I utter the forbidden words in front of "folks"! oh lord!

mind you I don't think I have any real intention of cutting my hair at not just yet, I was talking about doing something new and fun so I mention cutting boy the wrath came down!

Wait a minute! did y'all notice I did it before and it GREW back? it's not that big a deal! it's my hair! I'll cut it if I want to, not that I want too (yet)

Why do folks go crazy over hair? have you ever cut your hair dramatically? What was the reaction you've gotten from friends and family?

The Benefits of eating Dinner at the Table

A couple years ago, at a women conference I go every year my pastor's wife spoke about the benefit of eating dinner at the table as a family.

It was a life changing lesson. I became so interested I started to read up on it. I have two little girls I need all the help I can get!
In my research blog hopping I found some pretty interesting facts.

A random nationwide survey by the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University found a recent rise in the number of children ages 12 to 17 who said they ate dinner with their families at least five times a week, to 58 percent last year from 47 percent in 1998.
“There’s definitely an awareness that was not there a few years ago,” said Miriam Weinstein, author of “The Surprising Power of Family Meals: How Eating Together Makes Us Smarter, Stronger, Healthier, and Happier"

Families that do have dinner together often are families whose parents are fully engaged with their kids.
Social scientists have been praising the benefits of family dinners for years. A number of studies show that children who eat dinner with their families regularly are less likely to get involved with drugs and alcohol than those who do not. They also tend to get better grades, exhibit less stress and eat better.

The study by the Columbia center showed that compared with teenagers who have five or more family dinners a week, those who have two or less are three times as likely to try marijuana, two and half times as likely to smoke cigarettes and one and half times as likely to try alcohol.

Growing up we always eat dinner together as a family, not necessarily at the table but we would all eat at the same time. It was fun, for some of us, I said some of us because one of the perks or downside of this togetherness we were all in each others business. When it was your bizwack being laid out it may not be all that fun for you but still a good laugh.

I never forget the first time a boy wrote me a love letter, I tried to hide because I was embarrassed! not sure why? but I was.
Unfortunately one of my cousins found it and right in the middle of dinner with everybody there, he step on a chair and start reading it. Everybody was going oooh and aaahh! I remember being so mad I took it out of the poor little boy who wrote me and told him it was his fault! part of it sucks but it did create a sense of accountability toward each other. If anyone was thinking about doing something naughty you’d think twice about it cause you already know its going to be dinner talk subject.

It also teach us teamwork, if we’d learn that one of us is in trouble we would all pitch in. It is like that in my family till today. We were at my sister' in New york over the summer boy I gotta say it has not change!
So I got to say I kinda of agree with this study, dinner time is happy time, people talk, kids talk, it's a great time to bond, share and know what is going on in your kids life.

When you in the know, you are better equipped to guide and assist them.
I say YAY for family dinners!
Although sitting at the table as a FAMILY can be a daunting task with my hectic schedule, we still manage to do a few times a time weeks.

What’s your family dinners memories? do you think eating dinner or not with your family make you a better person today (or not)? SHARE!

Do you eat dinner with your family often? how do you manage with the busy-ness of life?

PS: The statistics of the research was published in a NY times article

Perspective

Google images

My little bug grew an extra tooth way before her baby tooth went loose.
Over the holidays the tooth came loose and fell but the new tooth was already growing in the back.

I look at the crooked tooth way in the back and cringe at the thought she's gonna need braces, but one night little bug change my perspective about the tooth.
In her prayers that night she said "thank you Jesus, for giving me a new tooth so I wouldn't have a whole in my mouth on my birthday!"
While I was looking at embarrassing and expensive braces, she was looking at her personal blessing!

It all depends on what YOU see.

"O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good..." Psalm 107:1

Happy Valentine Day

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY to all.

Valentine's day is usually a day for flower company, restaurants and retailers to make a profit.
It's also a day for people to celebrate with their hunnies, but so many don't have the means to participate in valentine retail therapy nor have hunnies to spend the day with...

So today in Honor of Valentine's day, the day of L.O.V.E

Love on somebody today!

A word of affirmations: tell them you love them, tell them you appreciate them, tell them to hang in there!

An act of service:Hold the door for someone,

Give some chocolate, flower or a pair of sock. Give a warm hug, and spend some quality time with them too.

I think I just cover all The 5 Love Languages to cover all our basis.

John 15:13 "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

Happy Valentines day!

Where did the time go?

Feels like yesterday since I brought her home, yesterday was 6 years ago!

When I brought my little bug home, it seems like she would be my baby forever, but time prove that it's not going to be the case.

Who would have thought that six measly year can change someone so MUCH!
In between sleeping, eating, going to work and hanging out she has morphed into a little lady.
As much as I love watching them grow, it scares me!
It scares to think that there is high school ahead, college, getting married, having kids, making me a Grandma!
nooooooooooooo!
Time is flying yes, but I'm privileged to say that I'm enjoying every minute of it. I do my best to give them the most important gift I can give them: my time!
How do you make the most of watching your kids grow?
How do you keep up?

I choose JOY

I got Joy joy joy joy, down in my heart! down in my heart, down in my heart

I got Joy Joy Joy, down in my heart, down in my heart

If you've been in church any number of time you must have heard the message on  Joy and happiness! well I heard it AGAIN!
Although it wasn’t the first time hearing it, it was definitely a breath of fresh air. A real faith booster.

Joy although it manifest in the exact same manner as happiness, they have different source. Joy comes from the inside and it’s permanent, while happiness comes from the outside and fade away as soon as the object of that brings it pass.

for instance, I’m happy when I get new shoes, but that feeling quickly evaporate after the first or second wear, I’m happy on Fridays because it’s the week end but I soon as Monday rolls in my happiness is gone.

Joy is when the car broke down in the middle of nowhere and the GPS lost signal and about 1 hour late, you are able to take a breather and think about all the good things that you could be grateful for, and also remember that this situation is temporary and does not define your person or the rest of your life.

Lately, I have been focusing a lot on my “Happiness” I let so many little things get to me, and makes me less than cheerful. I talk to a friend who was sleeping in a car for two weeks, a friend lost her husband to cancer and she's left alone with a newborn.

Then it hit me! wow, I have been a brat! a totally spoiled brat!

I have so many things to be grateful for, a place to draw my “happiness” from, right down in my heart.

all I had to do was think about the roof over my head that doesn’t leak, my healthy, happy beautiful children, a mother who watch my kids when I’m at work,  4 inches heels for $39.99

I could fill this page with good things I’m grateful for, just as I could fill this page with stuff that pissed me off. The only difference is which ones I choose to fill my life with.

I choose JOY!

What about you?
What have bugged you lately?
What are the good things that happened in you life lately?

Which ones did you choose? are you choosing JOY?

My daring experience with curlformers dupes

I've always wanted to try curlformers, I've seen so many natural raves about it, and the results are to be envied. While I love seeing the results of  the curlformer set, I was NOT down for that price!
No sir! so when I come across of these curlformers dupes from for only $15ish I was game!

So I ordered them!

Vakind Magic Leverage on Amazon

They came in a simple ziplock, no pretty pink bag but the actual product look exactly the same to me.
I bought 2 bag of the 40 counts.
So I had 80 curlformers dupe to play with.
I manage to transfer most of them in my head.
After a helluva night I woke up with curls! My hair was super stretch and the curls were super slick and shiny. I don't see myself including curlformers are regular part of my regimen (which is why I didn't want to drop a load on the "branded" curformers) but to satisfy my curiosity $15 was well worth it.
I wore the curls as is but ended getting wet, some were turning puffy so I turn my look into this!
This updo lasted about a week, which is always a win for me! will I try them again? I think yes! when it stop raining around this part.

Have you try curlformers?
Would you try these dupes?
